In the entire corpus of Hadith literature, many Hadith argue against Hadith and particularly the use of Hadith besides the Quran as a source of law.
Do Not Follow Everything The Prophet Said
According to Hadith, the prophet told people to not obey him regarding his personal opinion, yet so many Hadith are extracted from his personal life and turned into religious decrees.
Rafiโ b. Khadij reported that Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) came to Medina and the people had been grafting the trees. He said: What are you doing? They said: We are grafting them, whereupon he said: It may perhaps be good for you if you do not do that, so they abandoned this practice (and the date-palms) began to yield less fruit. They made a mention of it (to the Holy Prophet), whereupon he said: I am only a human being, so when I command you about a thing pertaining to religion, do accept it, and when I command you about a thing out of my personal opinion, then I am only a human being. โIkrima reported that he said something like this.
In another Hadith, the prophet supposedly also states that his judgment is fallible because he is only human. Therefore,
Narrated Um Salama: Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) said, โI am only a human being, and you people (opponents) come to me with your cases; and it may be that one of you can present his case eloquently in a more convincing way than the other, and I give my verdict according to what I hear. So if ever I judge (by error) and give the right of a brother to his other (brother) then he (the latter) should not take it, for I am giving him only a piece of Fire.โ

โAbdullah (b. Masโud) reported: The Messenger of Allah (๏ทบ) led us five (rakโahs in prayer). We said: Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been extended? He said: What is the matter? They said: You have said five (rakโahs). He (the Holy Prophet) said: Verily I am a human being like you. I remember as you remember and I forget just as you forget. He then performed two prostrations as (compensation of) forgetfulness.

The Prophet Warned Against Hadith
Narrated Aisha: Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) said, โWhoever he narrates (Hadith) in this command of ours, what is not in it (the Quran), it is to be rejected.โ

The Prophet Called Hadith the Worst Commands
Narrated `Abdullah: The best Hadith is Allahโs Book โQurโan, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, and the worst commands are its Hadith; and whatever you have been promised will surely come to pass, and you cannot escape (it).
Sahih al-Bukhari 7277

Jabir b. Abdullah said: When Allahโs Messenger (may peace he upon him) delivered the sermon, his eyes became red, his voice rose, and his anger increased so that he was like one giving a warning against the enemy and saying: โThe enemy has made a morning attack on you and in the evening too.โ He would also say: โThe Last Hour and I have been sent like these two.โ *And he would join his forefinger and middle finger; and would further say: โ The best of the Hadith is the Book of Allah, and the best of the guidance is the guidance given by Muhammad. And the most evil commands are its Hadith; and every innovation is error.โ* He would further say:, I am more dear to a Muslim even than his self; and he who left behind property that is for his family; and he who dies under debt or leaves children (in helplessness), the responsibility (of paying his debt and bringing up his children) lies on me.โ
The Prophet Forbid the Writing of AnyThing from him except Quran
Abu Saโid Khudri reported that Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) said: Do not take down anything from me, and he who took down anything from me except the Qurโan, he should efface that and narrate from me, for there is no harm in it and he who attributed any falsehood to me-and Hammam said: I think he also said:โ deliberatelyโ -he should in fact find his abode in the Hell-Fire.
Narrated `Aisha: Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) came to me and I told him about the slave-girl (Barirah) Allahโs Messenger (๏ทบ) said, โBuy and manumit her, for the Wala is for the one who manumits.โ In the evening the Prophet (๏ทบ) got up and glorified Allah as He deserved and then said, โWhy do some people impose conditions which are not present in Allahโs Book (Laws)? Whoever imposes such a condition as is not in Allahโs Laws, then that condition is invalid even if he imposes one hundred conditions, for Allahโs conditions are more binding and reliable.โ

This sentiment towards Hadith besides the Quran is also echoed in the Quran.
39:23 GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for GODโs message. Such is GODโs guidance; He bestows it upon whomever He wills. As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them.
6:114 Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.
6:115 The word of your Lord is complete,* in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.
4:87 GOD: there is no god except He. He will surely summon you on the Day of Resurrectionโthe inevitable day. Whose narration (Hadith) is more truthful than GODโs?
